Serene Fawn: First Trekking Experience!

so at May 15-16, me and my other fellas from architecture major decided to go to Mt. Merbabu

to releave the stress and also to enjoy the nature together!

at first i was hesitate because i have never went trekking before

and it is Merbabu which height is kind of taller than any mountain for beginner,

but then it was not only me who was the first-timer either! so i thought it was fine haha

this is Merapi seen from afar!

Merbabu has about 3.142 mdpl in height, so when in Merbabu we can see Merapi mountain which located in the opposite of Merbabu mountain, Merapi has just about 2.930 mdpl in height.

we departed from campus after the Friday shalah, it was about at 1pm or 2pm then we took a break at this mosque near the mountain for Ashar at 4pm or 5pm.

then we continued our journey to the base camp near the trekking entrance. in there need to register our member and pay the operational charge, for one person got to pay Rp10,500, then we started to track at twilight.

yes we were having night track and that was adventurous indeed. we need to walk in the dark, carrying out our baggage while holding flashlight for us to be able to see the track, that was easy if compared when we have to hold the flashlight while we have to climb the extreme track (yes there were some climbing too though).

the terrain was not as difficult as Merapi track (which some of my friend say was sandy), but Merbabu terrain was pretty much slippery and some of it muddy, but that was okay. thank God i didn't slip much at the climbing.

we did take lots of break in the need of our strenght, the track was extremely tiresome because it only hike and hike. then we finally reached our camp site and decided to build the tents there at 10pm or 11pm.

then after that ate our meal (some of my friends cooked it for the sake of the group, thank God) and decided to go to bed for tomorrow we could continued the adventure, even though not all the group member went to bed and decided to continued the journey haha (oh that was me)

some went sky-seeing because the male tent couldn't be built because there was a crucial problem, i honestly didn't really understand my self.
